Man robs woman of necklace at knifepoint days before Tet

Huynh Thanh Khiet, 35, robbed a woman of her necklace at knifepoint in her rented room on the morning of the 28th day of Tet.

On 16/2, Tay Ninh Provincial Police announced the arrest of Khiet for property robbery. Recovered items included a 2.3 chi gold necklace, valued at over 18 million dong, and a motorbike.

Yesterday morning, Ms. Hong, 55, originally from Ca Mau and residing in Can Giuoc commune, was in her room when Khiet burst in. He held a knife to her throat, threatening her. She did not resist, and Khiet snatched the necklace from her neck before fleeing on a motorbike.

The victim stated that she had saved money to buy the necklace at the end of September last year in Ho Chi Minh City (TP HCM).

Police reviewed security camera footage and arrested Khiet one day after the incident.
