Man subdued after verbally abusing and assaulting traffic police

An intoxicated man was apprehended after verbally abusing traffic police and assaulting a volunteer assisting at a traffic accident scene.

On the evening of 10/9, a man in his 50s, riding a motorbike on Song Hanh Road, Ba Diem Commune (formerly Hoc Mon District), was involved in a collision with a car traveling in the same direction. When traffic police and a volunteer arrived at the scene, the man began verbally abusing them.

The traffic police officers asked him to remain calm. However, the man pushed the volunteer to the ground. He was immediately subdued by the authorities.

According to eyewitnesses, the man appeared intoxicated and repeatedly verbally abused the officers despite attempts to calm him down. The volunteer sustained a leg injury during the altercation.

A representative of the Ba Diem Commune People's Committee (UBND) stated that the police took the man to the station for obstructing a public officer.
