On 10/9, Tran Thi Ngoc Tuyet, a resident of Cao Minh 3 village, voluntarily surrendered 1.5 kg of firework powder and over 200 paper rolls to Vinh Am Commune Police.

Tuyet's husband, Pham Duc Cao, was arrested two years ago for producing illegal fireworks. Police seized almost 100 kg of fireworks and various ingredients including sodium benzoate, potassium chlorate, sulfur, and carbon. In 2/2024, Cao was sentenced to 9 years in prison by Vinh Bao District People’s Court for producing and trading prohibited goods. However, due to his kidney disease, his sentence was suspended.

Today, Tuyet discovered her husband making firework powder again. She persuaded him to stop and turned over all the materials.

Vinh Am Commune Police stated they have increased patrols and public awareness campaigns against the illegal possession and production of fireworks. Residents, including Tuyet, signed pledges not to engage in these activities.
