The incident occurred around noon yesterday, 30/7, according to Nguyen Xuan Canh, chairman of the Phu Yen ward People's Committee (UBND). Hanh and the victim had a dispute over money. After the attack, Hanh surrendered to the police.

The 35-year-old woman was admitted to Phu Yen General Hospital with 19 stab wounds, including one that punctured a jugular vein, according to a hospital representative. She suffered significant blood loss and was in critical condition.

A surgical team from four departments worked to control the bleeding, repair the internal jugular vein, and treat all wounds. After several hours of surgery, the patient is now stable and conscious. She remains in the intensive care unit for observation.

The investigation is ongoing.
