On 15/8, the Ho Chi Minh City Criminal Police Department announced that Quan, 28, defrauded hundreds of people out of over 6 billion VND using this scheme.

Investigators determined that since August 2022, Quan used the Instagram accounts "suu.authentic" and "authentic.atluxe" to post numerous images of Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, and YSL bags for sale. He guaranteed the bags were "authentic" and offered them at discounted prices.

When buyers expressed interest, Quan demanded upfront payment. He then blocked contact to complete the fraud. In cases where customers only paid a deposit, Quan ordered counterfeit goods, arranged delivery, and collected the remaining balance. If customers discovered the items were fake, he would cease communication and keep the deposit.

The investigative agency requests Quan's victims contact the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department at 160 Hoang Van Thu Street, Duc Nhuan Ward, or contact investigator Vo Hoang Nam at 0918.797.953 to file a report.
