Neighbor killed following provocation

Pham Thanh Sang and two accomplices allegedly beat a neighbor to death, an act stemming from Sang's anger after the victim nearly hit his mother with a vehicle and subsequent verbal provocations.

An Giang Provincial Police on 14/4 temporarily detained Pham Thanh Sang, Do Duy Minh, and Do Phat Dat, aged 33 to 43, for investigation into murder.

The fatal incident occurred on the evening of 12/4. Sang was drinking with Minh, his employee, and Dat, Minh's brother-in-law. Upon seeing Do Trong Bao playing billiards at a nearby establishment, Sang confronted him over an earlier dispute. The confrontation quickly escalated into a physical altercation. Minh and Dat joined the fray, supporting Sang. Bao tried to escape, but the trio pursued him, using glass cups, plastic tables, and plastic chairs as weapons. Bao suffered critical injuries and subsequently died.

Investigation revealed that Sang and the 41-year-old victim, Do Trong Bao, were neighbors. Their animosity began in early april when Bao's electric bicycle nearly struck Sang's mother, leading to a fierce argument and mutual provocations.

Following the assault, all three suspects surrendered to the police.
