On 22/7, Torben Stig Hersborg, a 64-year-old Danish national, was sentenced to three years and five months in prison at Snaresbrook Crown Court in London. He pleaded guilty to eight counts of voyeurism—the act of secretly observing others in private activities, such as changing clothes, bathing, or engaging in sexual acts, for sexual arousal.
Hersborg was a prominent osteopath in London, whose clientele included celebrities and athletes, including tennis player Caroline Wozniacki and actress Anna Friel.
He is accused of secretly filming and photographing approximately 2,000 women over more than a decade at his osteopathy clinic on Old Street in London. He also filmed women on beaches, streets, waiting for buses or the underground, and in their homes.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) stated, "Torben Hersborg operated over a very long period and targeted thousands of women over 12 years. We believe the scale and seriousness of his offending makes him one of London’s most prolific voyeurs."
According to the prosecutor, Hersborg meticulously planned his offenses, including installing hidden cameras to film women at his clinic, in public places, and in their homes.
The prosecutor added, "He deliberately exploited the trust of unsuspecting patients by filming them in vulnerable positions and targeted strangers for his own sexual gratification."
Hersborg’s crimes were uncovered in December 2024 when a member of the public called the police to report a suspicious vehicle parked outside a university hall of residence in Islington, north London. Hersborg was spotted in the back of a dark-colored Lexus, wearing black gloves and sitting on black nylon bags.
Upon searching the vehicle, the police discovered a telescope under the car and a video camera with black tape around the lens, pointed towards students living inside the hall.
After arresting Hersborg, investigators found thousands of files containing sensitive images and videos of victims on his devices. This included images of women undressing and two videos of secretly filmed sexual activity.
Unable to identify any of the women in the videos and photos, prosecutors focused on digital evidence to establish a pattern of offending and build a picture of Hersborg's motivations.
Faced with the overwhelming digital evidence presented at his first court appearance in December 2024, Hersborg pleaded guilty.
