Son admits killing father

Pham Trung Truong, 53, admitted to beating his father to death following a dispute at their home in Dam Doi commune.

Leaders of Dam Doi commune People's Committee reported the incident on 17/4, stating that Pham Trung Truong, 53, admitted to killing his 73-year-old father following a domestic dispute at their home in Tan Khanh hamlet.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the incident occurred last night. Truong's father, who had returned home intoxicated, began verbally abusing and arguing with his wife. During the heated exchange, he placed a knife near where his wife was resting. She reportedly urged him repeatedly to go to sleep to avoid disturbing others, but he persisted in shouting.

A short time later, when the shouting ceased, Truong's mother went to investigate. She discovered her husband lying motionless on the floor with visible injuries. The family immediately raised an alarm, calling neighbors for assistance, but the victim was already deceased.

Investigators have since examined the scene and are working with those involved to clarify the details of the case.
