Around midnight on 24/7, Pham Thi Tuyet, 34, and two friends arrived at a karaoke bar in the Cai Dam area of Bai Chay Ward. As they approached the entrance, Tuyet said a man wearing a black shirt approached and embraced her.
"He appeared drunk and kept trying to hug me, even though I dodged and moved away," she said.
A verbal altercation ensued, with the man continuing to approach and provoke Tuyet and her friends. "He said he enjoyed teasing us and dared us to call anyone we wanted," Tuyet recounted.
Tuyet explained that she didn't know the man and tried to avoid a fight. However, he persisted, punching her in the stomach. When she pushed him away, he retaliated by kicking one of her friends, causing her to fall.
Angered by the harassment and assault, Tuyet and her friends fought back. "Then several people ran out of the karaoke bar, calling others to join in and attack us," Tuyet said.
A video recorded by a bystander shows several large men repeatedly slapping, punching, and pulling Tuyet's hair. "My two friends ran away in fear. I tried to escape and walk away, but they chased me and continued the group assault. People who tried to intervene were also threatened and attacked," the 34-year-old woman said.

The attack stopped only when Tuyet's family and Bai Chay Ward Police arrived.
Tuyet was hospitalized for 4 days with a concussion. "Throughout my time in the hospital, I haven't received a single word of concern or apology from the group who attacked me," she stated.
Tuyet has posted the video of the assault on social media and filed a police report, requesting that the attackers be prosecuted.
This morning, Quang Ninh Provincial Police interviewed Tuyet's two friends and took their statements. Tuyet is still recovering.
