Phuong sells large quantities of fruit and health supplements at her VHP store on Tran Hung Dao street, Hoan Kiem district. She also sells through e-commerce platforms and social media.
In 2017, Thang established Hoa Ky Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company to manage their business. The couple then opened the VHP store to facilitate their online sales and hired Nhung as their accountant.
From 2023 to the present, Phuong and Thang instructed Nhung to report only a little over 5 billion VND in revenue to authorities. Preliminary investigations reveal their actual revenue exceeded 120 billion VND, resulting in over 10 billion VND in lost tax revenue for the state.
Hanoi police are investigating an additional 500 billion VND in transactions through Phuong's accounts.
