On the morning of 11/8, a traffic police team from the Lam Dong Province Police Department was conducting speed checks on Highway 1A, in the Lien Huong commune.

Lieutenant Nguyen Hoang Trung, the team leader, signaled for Tran Dai Phong, 17, from Quang Tri province, to stop after observing him speeding on his motorbike.

Phong allegedly disregarded the signal and collided directly with Lieutenant Trung, throwing him off his feet. Trung suffered a broken leg and multiple other injuries. He was taken to Tuy Phong Regional Medical Center and later transferred to TP HCM Orthopedic and Traumatology Hospital for further treatment.

Authorities apprehended Phong at the scene. The Lam Dong Province Police are working with the Lien Huong Commune Police to investigate and charge the teenager with resisting law enforcement.

On the morning of 12/8, Senior Colonel Nguyen Tuong Vu, Deputy Director of the Lam Dong Province Police Department, visited Lieutenant Trung in the hospital, wishing him a speedy recovery and return to duty.
