On 25/7, 33-year-old Linh was arrested and detained by Can Tho City Police for investigation of fraud and misappropriation of assets, under Article 174 of the Criminal Code.

Initial investigations revealed that in 2019, Linh established Nguyen Linh Tourism Services Limited Liability Company, based in Hung Phu ward, Can Tho City, specializing in self-drive car rentals and contracted tourist transportation. Facing financial losses and mounting debts, Linh rented cars from various individuals, claiming they were "for transporting tourists," but instead pawned them to repay debts and for personal expenses.

When the car owners demanded the return of their vehicles, Linh repeatedly made promises but failed to fulfill them, leading to the filing of complaints. To date, the investigating authority has determined that through this scheme, Linh rented and pawned 5 cars, misappropriating nearly 2.4 billion VND.

Can Tho City Police are urging organizations and individuals who are victims of Linh to come forward and provide information to assist the investigation.
