Officer Hou Guodong received the gold bar from Xiao Xie. The police then reviewed surveillance footage and made a public announcement to find the owner. A few hours later, the owner claimed the gold bar after providing purchase documents and verifying their identity.
The owner offered Xiao Xie 1,000 CNY as a reward, but he declined.
"This is the first time I've seen such a large gold bar. I'm happy to have helped someone. It must be fate," he said.
