Galaxy launches cinema integrating two Dolby technologies in Da Nang

Galaxy opens 30th cinema at Aeon Mall Thanh Khe (Da Nang) on 1/7, integrating high-contrast dolby vision imaging technology and 3D dolby atmos surround sound.

According to a company representative, the Galaxy CineX complex is located within Aeon Mall Thanh Khe, a 30,000 square meter shopping mall with four facades bordering key thoroughfares Dien Bien Phu, Vo Van Tan, and Hai Phong. The cinema features screening rooms integrating US-standard dolby vision + atmos film technology for the first time.

Specifically, dolby vision is an HDR projection technology from US-based Dolby Corporation. It utilizes a specialized laser projection system capable of reproducing a contrast ratio of nearly 1,000,000:1. With high brightness, a wide color gamut, and 4K projection at 120 frames per second, this solution delivers sharp images, vibrant colors, and visual depth.

Additionally, the venue applies dolby atmos technology, allowing sound to be precisely positioned and moved in three-dimensional space, rather than simply playing through traditional fixed channels.

According to Galaxy, dolby atmos recreates every sound detail, with additional ceiling speakers to enhance the perception of realistic sound movement for the audience. Its ability to simultaneously process up to 128 audio objects, combined with a dedicated speaker array, creates a multidimensional environment, enabling viewers to distinctly perceive every sound – from a nail dropping to the floor, rain overhead, to jet engine roars.

Inspired by the youthful, modern spirit of Da Nang's coastal port city, Galaxy CineX Aeon Mall Thanh Khe features contemporary architecture with a minimalist yet elegant design. The complex aims to transcend the boundaries of a pure movie-watching venue, offering a multi-layered entertainment experience where people can enjoy films, dine, and relax.

The screening room integrating dolby vision + atmos is the cinema's centerpiece, with a capacity of 150 people. All seating consists of ergonomic leather chairs.

Also according to a Galaxy representative, this is Da Nang's first cinema complex with a dedicated children's screening room. With 56 seats, Cine de Kids integrates a play area directly within the screening space, opening up a fascinating world for children. The company maintains soft lighting throughout the screening, allowing children to freely enter and exit the Cine de Play area, while adults can watch the movie and easily monitor their children.

The cinema's first commercial screening is at 17h on 1/7, with the animated film "Minions and Monsters" shown in the dolby vision + atmos room.

Aeon Mall Thanh Khe (Da Nang) represents a strategic move for the company, following Galaxy CineX Thiso Mall Sala (TP HCM) and CineX Hanoi Centre (Ha Noi). Unit leaders stated that they will continue to invest in technology and upgrade international-standard cinematic experiences to meet the increasingly diverse demands of domestic audiences.

Galaxy Entertainment Holding Joint Stock Company operates several units, including: film producer Galaxy Production, film distributor Galaxy Studio, cinema chain Galaxy Cinema, online movie platform Galaxy Play, and online education platform Galaxy Education.
