Landmarks and symbols of Vietnam on display at '80 years of independence' exhibition

President Ho Chi Minh's plane, iconic landmarks, and VR/AR technology will be featured at the "80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" exhibition, from 28/8 to 5/9.

The event takes place at the National Exhibition Center in Dong Anh, the largest in Southeast Asia and among the top 10 globally. The large-scale exhibition features over 200 participating units, including government ministries, departments, 34 provinces and cities, and hundreds of businesses. The venue showcases numerous national brands and paints a comprehensive picture of the country's 80-year development journey.

The 900,000 m2 exhibition area is designed in the shape of the sacred turtle, Than Kim Quy. Visitors will feel as if they are traveling back in time to experience significant moments in the nation's history. The national flag and the communist party flag are prominently displayed, creating a sense of national pride.

The exhibition is divided into two main areas: indoor and outdoor.

The indoor exhibition area is divided into six themes, reflecting the country's development journey: Vietnam - Land - People; 95 Years Under the Party's Flag; Creation and Development; Economic Engine; National Start-up; and Prosperous Province, Strong Nation.

The main hall showcases various themes following the country's development journey.

Block A focuses on the achievements of 12 cultural industries, from film, architecture, fine arts, and fashion to gaming software.

The outdoor exhibition area spans approximately 200,000 m2 and features themes such as National Day Celebration; Sky Aspirations - For a Green Future; and The Sword and the Shield. Pictured is the plane that carried President Ho Chi Minh during the resistance war against the US.

Modern machinery and technology models embody the "national start-up" spirit.

This area also showcases products from brands and businesses integral to the nation's development.

Visitors can also experience firsthand numerous "made in Vietnam" technological achievements, such as VinMotion's humanoid robot demonstrations and VinFast's comprehensive electric vehicle ecosystem.

To meet deadlines, thousands of workers and engineers worked day and night. Every detail, from the booths to the lighting, was meticulously crafted. This event is not just an exhibition, but also a gift to the people for the National Day holiday on 2/9. Pictured is a model of the Reunification Express train, a symbol of national unity.

Tran Le Phuong, Chairman of the Vietnam Exhibition Fair Center Joint Stock Company, stated that leaders from the central to local levels closely monitored every step to ensure the event's national significance.

"The '80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness' exhibition is a must-see historical and cultural event for National Day. The event, which runs until 2/9, is expected to be a focal point for millions," Phuong said.
