Man discovers all three children are not his after four DNA tests

After multiple DNA tests revealed none of his three children shared his biological lineage, Wei decided to file for divorce and seek compensation from his wife.

Wei and He, residing in Nanzheng District, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province, married in 2008. They have three daughters: an 8-year-old and twins born in July 2025.

For many years, Wei worked away from home to support his family. From early 2024, he noticed his wife frequently went out, citing reasons like job interviews or meeting friends. On one occasion, Wei's father saw his daughter-in-law with another man. He also repeatedly disconnected the home surveillance cameras and the dashcam.

In 4/2026, Wei took DNA samples from the twins for testing and received results indicating they were not biologically related to him. Five days later, he tested his eldest daughter and received similar results. Wei conducted additional tests in 5/2026, but his wife rejected them, claiming they were from a private facility. At court, the results of the fourth forensic examination once again confirmed he was not the biological father of the three children.

Initially, Wei proposed a divorce without demanding compensation if his wife disclosed the identity of the children's biological father. When the two parties failed to reach an agreement, he filed a lawsuit.

During the preliminary hearing on 17/8 at the Nanzheng District People's Court, Wei requested the dissolution of the marriage, demanding his wife repay approximately 16,000 USD for child-rearing expenses and nearly 28,000 USD for emotional distress. In court, He stated she "did not know" who the biological fathers of her children were. She agreed to compensate about 4,200 USD for her mother-in-law's care, but Wei rejected the offer.

Wei's lawyer stated that concealing the biological relationship falls under "deceptive upbringing," which provides grounds for a compensation claim. He's legal team argued that Wei had prior knowledge of the situation but still allowed her to have children, though they provided no evidence to support this claim.

After more than four hours of trial, both parties agreed to divorce, with custody of the three children granted to He. Mediation for the compensation amounts failed, and the court decided to postpone the case for a sentencing date.

Before the court session, Wei took his eldest daughter to a plaza to fly a kite and buy gifts. "I let her play everything she wanted, because I might never see her again," he said.
