On the morning of 2/9, the red-clad metro line 1 trains began running along the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien route, joining in the National Day festivities across Ho Chi Minh City. Instead of their usual white and blue livery, the trains were covered in decals featuring the national flag and iconic city landmarks.

The decal application began on 30/8. On the first day, six metro trains received the new look and were put into operation on a rotating basis.

By 31/8, the number of specially decorated trains had increased to 8-10.

On 1/9, all 17 trains were fully adorned for the National Day celebrations.

Many tourists expressed delight at seeing the bright red trains running along metro line 1. The change in the trains' appearance added an element of surprise, making their journeys more memorable during the festive period.

The metro also became a popular spot for taking photos and sharing them on social media. Many young people took the opportunity to capture check-in pictures with the trains during the holiday.

In addition to the metro, National Day decorations appeared at various central traffic points, such as lampposts on Dong Khoi - Le Loi streets, Ben Thanh Market, and a double-sided billboard at the Saigon Bridge.

Ho Chi Minh City's metro line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) officially opened on 22/12/2024. It stretches 19.7 km and has 14 stations: three underground and 11 elevated.
Each metro line 1 train consists of three cars and can carry 930 passengers (147 seated and 783 standing). The trains have a maximum speed of 110 km/h on elevated tracks and 80 km/h underground.

After more than eight months of operation, metro line 1 has become a familiar part of city life. This modern train system connects the city center with eastern districts, reducing travel time and alleviating traffic congestion. Many residents now choose metro line 1 for their daily commute due to its convenience, punctuality, and reasonable fares, especially during major holidays when travel demand increases.
