Over 1,300 seniors sing national anthem to celebrate national day

Phuong Dong Asahi, a retirement and nursing home complex, organized a national anthem singing event with over 1,300 senior participants, setting a Vietnam record.

The event, themed "U80 responds to A80", took place on 19/8 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of National Day. Participants included members of the Veterans Association, former youth volunteers, the Elderly Association, and local residents. According to a Phuong Dong Asahi representative, this activity not only set a record for the number of participants but also demonstrated patriotism and national pride.

Le Van Tung, an 81-year-old veteran from Hanoi, expressed his emotion at standing among thousands of people from his generation, singing the national anthem together in an atmosphere filled with pride and faith in the country. The event helped him feel alive, appreciated, and capable of contributing.

In addition to the national anthem singing, the "U80 responds to A80" program also included cultural, artistic, and healthcare activities for seniors. These included performances by senior clubs, acts related to the theme of homeland and country, and an exhibit called "Intersection of History and Numbers" which used AI to recreate historical memories and symbolic images of Vietnam and its people. There were also booths showcasing products and services specifically for the elderly, offering free health check-ups and consultations such as Inbody measurements, thyroid ultrasounds, blood pressure checks, and liver and joint ultrasounds, to promote awareness of proactive healthcare in old age.

"Through this series of activities, Phuong Dong Asahi hopes to promote a modern, professional, and high-class model of elderly care that remains connected to human values, culture, and historical depth," a Phuong Dong Asahi representative said.
