According to dairy industry experts, transparency is a fundamental principle across most product categories, including dairy. However, achieving transparency is also one of the greatest challenges. This stems from a value chain that extends from raw materials, livestock farming, and processing to distribution, involving many stakeholders and being impacted by difficult-to-control natural factors.
Moreover, the dairy industry in Vietnam has only developed for about 50 years. Information is not yet widely disseminated, and consumers have not had full access to it, creating a challenge in ensuring transparency for every component of a glass of milk. In this context, Vinamilk has identified transparency as central to its entire dairy production value chain, aiming to reinforce the trust and health of Vietnamese consumers.

Transparent raw materials
For imported raw materials, Vinamilk collaborates with countries that have long-established dairy industries and strict control systems, such as New Zealand, Australia, the US, and Europe. Key ingredients vital for nutritional value and digestive support, including whey protein, natural lactose, and milk protein, are imported directly from these partners. All raw materials are fully traceable and undergo independent verification, forming the first layer of transparent protection across the company's entire product value chain.
Additionally, the company has proactively developed its raw material sourcing regions to ensure self-sufficiency in production. Vinamilk currently owns and manages a system of 15 international-standard dairy farms (such as Global S.L.P, EU Organic) located throughout Vietnam and abroad in Laos. This farm system houses approximately 140,000 dairy cows, providing over one million liters of raw milk daily to support the production of 16 factories, ensuring a high-quality supply.
Production processes and output standards
Vinamilk currently operates 16 factories across Vietnam, Cambodia, the US, and New Zealand. These factories utilize modern technology and meet numerous international quality standards, including ISO, FSSC 22000, Halal, and FDA, serving both domestic and export demands.

Notably, the company's Vietnam Powdered Milk Factory, located in VSIP 1 Industrial Park, TP HCM (formerly Thuan An, Binh Duong), is considered the largest powdered milk "mega-factory" in Vietnam and a leader in Asia. Its processes are over 90% automated, from input to finished goods warehousing. This automated and closed-loop production line ensures quality control and maximizes production efficiency. The factory features two separate drying towers, enabling self-sufficiency in raw material processing. This guarantees the full content and purity levels required by the company's standards.
Beyond raw material inputs, transparency is further validated through assessments by leading international organizations. Vinamilk has submitted its products to the Clean Label Project (US), the International Quality Institute (Belgium), and the International Taste Institute (Belgium) for independent and impartial quality testing, covering over 400 criteria. The Clean Label Project's Purity Award certifies product purity and safety; the International Quality Institute's Monde Selection is regarded as the "Oscar of the food industry"; and the International Taste Institute holds a reputation comparable to Michelin for the quality of food and beverage products.
Based on these evaluations, the Vietnamese company's products have achieved significant international recognition. Vinamilk Green Farm and 9 Grains Milk received the Monde Selection Gold Award; its yogurt earned two international awards; and its fresh milk has repeatedly received the Superior Taste Award from the International Taste Institute. "These awards certify the quality of each product and reinforce our commitment to transparency", a company representative stated.
In mid-August 2025, Brand Finance announced Vinamilk as the world's most promising dairy brand. Additionally, Vinamilk was rated AAA+ for brand strength and maintained its position in the top 10 most valuable dairy companies globally.
Long-term vision for consumer health
According to Nguyen Quang Tri, Vinamilk's Marketing Executive Director, transparency is a long-term strategic choice linked to the responsibility of protecting public health. Instead of leaving consumers with questions, the brand proactively discloses information, provides evidence, and invites consumers to participate in its quality-building journey.

From tracing raw materials and adhering to international standards to gaining recognition from independent organizations, Vinamilk contributes to strengthening consumer trust in Vietnam's dairy industry.
Simultaneously, the company empowers consumers to directly participate in its transparency efforts. Vinamilk readily opens its farms and factories, allowing consumers to witness the production process firsthand, thereby demonstrating transparency through real-world experience. Product disclosures and certifications are also publicly available on its official website, making it easy for consumers to verify and trace origins.
