The family of 19-year-old forward Lamine Yamal, including his mother, brother, and girlfriend, have consistently been present in the stands for Spain's matches at the 2026 World Cup. However, his father, Mounir Nasraoui, 35, will be absent.
On a recent Spanish television program, "Y ahora Sonsoles", Mounir stated that he suffers from epilepsy and takes daily medication. Doctors have advised him to avoid long-distance and extended trips due to his condition.

Following his son would require Mounir to fly a long distance from Spain to the United States, then continue with domestic travel. This is because the Spanish national team plays in various distant cities such as Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles (United States), and Guadalajara (Mexico).
Mounir noted that the stress level from matches could also trigger seizures. Therefore, he prioritizes physical stability and chooses to follow the tournament from home.
Lamine Yamal will play his first World Cup final on Sunday, 19/7 (2:00 on 20/7 Vietnam time), when Spain faces Argentina. In this year's tournament, Yamal scored in the semi-final against France.
If Spain wins the championship, the 19-year-old forward will make history as the fourth youngest player to lift the golden trophy, after Giuseppe Bergomi, Ronaldo Nazario, and Pele.
