When participating in a marathon with tens of thousands of runners, the experience extends beyond the race itself, encompassing everything from bib collection and expo visits to gear check and the finish line. A well-organized event from start to finish significantly impacts the overall participant experience.

Many marathons worldwide, including those in Vietnam, are moving bib distribution, pre-race activities, and runner experiences away from city centers. This shift primarily aims to alleviate traffic congestion, avoid overcrowding public spaces, and allow for more flexible operations within a contained environment.
Duong Hai Anh, race director of VnExpress Marathon, explained that the location for bib distribution is carefully considered for each race. "Open spaces like central squares can easily become congested and difficult to manage," he said. "A self-contained model enhances safety and improves runner services. However, not every race has the space to build an expo in a closed area."
For the VnExpress Marathon Libera Nha Trang 2025, the bib distribution moved from 2/4 Square to the Libera Nha Trang project in the north of the city. In previous years, the central square experienced overcrowding as thousands of people arrived simultaneously to collect race kits, visit booths, and take photos. This not only impacted city traffic but also strained the organizing committee's logistics.

The Libera Nha Trang area offers dedicated infrastructure, parking, security, and traffic management. Its spacious and private setting facilitates smoother and more orderly processes for reception, bib distribution, and sponsor product experiences.
Beyond logistical reasons, the change of venue adds a fresh element for participants. For returning runners of the VnExpress Marathon Nha Trang, exploring the northern area, with its natural scenery and less crowded atmosphere, provides a different experience. This area is also easily accessible by taxi and motorbike, convenient for both runners and their families.

"For annual marathons, we need to refresh the experience to keep it engaging for runners. Changing the expo location is one way to improve service quality and create a new highlight each season," added Mr. Hai Anh.
The VnExpress Marathon Libera Nha Trang 2025 will take place on 24/8, with approximately 13,000 runners competing in distances from 5 km to 42 km. This is the final race in the VnExpress Marathon summer series, catering to runners who enjoy combining travel and sports.
