YouTuber robbed after flaunting gold online

Rachna Gurjar, a content creator from Madhya Pradesh, lost assets valued at 224 million Vietnamese Dong after thieves ransacked her home following videos showcasing her jewelry online.

According to Rachna's report, on the night of 5/6, a group of thieves bypassed a barbed wire fence to enter her house in Shivpuri district. The culprits used a pole to redirect the security camera upwards, then broke locks and pried open cabinets. They stole 191,000 Indian Rupee in cash (over 53 million Vietnamese Dong), one necklace, four gold rings, one silver belly chain, and one crate of energy drinks. The total value of stolen assets is estimated at 800,000 Indian Rupee (224 million Vietnamese Dong).

Around 4 am on 6/6, Rachna awoke to find her bedroom door locked from the outside. She and her husband called family members to open the door. After checking their belongings, they reported the theft.

"The culprits locked our bedroom door to ransack our belongings, stealing gold, silver, and cash", Rachna recounted.

Following the incident, Rachna continued to post videos updating her followers on the investigation's progress. She urged police to track down the suspects, shared images of official vehicles at the crime scene, and maintained her daily vlogs.

Sanjiv Mule, Deputy Police Chief of Shivpuri district, stated that special teams are currently extracting camera data from the surrounding area. One video clip shows masked thieves using a stick to alter the camera's angle. Authorities suspect the perpetrators reside within the village, possessing detailed knowledge of the house layout and the residents' daily routines.

Investigators are also analyzing videos from Rachna's account, which boasts 100,000 followers. Recently, she frequently filmed from her home's entrance to her bedroom, often displaying cash and jewelry on a table. Two days before the break-in, she uploaded a video featuring herself wearing numerous pieces of gold jewelry.

Police believe the thieves watched these videos to plan the crime. The videos inadvertently provided criminals with the house layout, locations of valuables, and security vulnerabilities.

Police forces continue to search for the masked individuals seen on security cameras. They consider the incident a crucial lesson on the risks of sharing personal living spaces and assets on social media.
