The two-day 12th meeting of the Party Central Committee's 13th tenure is being chaired by General Secretary To Lam, who delivered the opening remarks. President Luong Cuong presided over the opening session.
The Central Committee is focusing on three main topics: preparations for the 14th National Congress; establishing the political and legal framework for continued national reform and development; and personnel matters.
Regarding preparations for the 14th National Congress, the document subcommittees have carefully considered and incorporated feedback from the 11th Central Committee meeting, draft documents, contributions from party members and the public, and several recent communal and ward party congresses.
On institutional matters, the Central Committee has requested that agencies under the National Assembly, the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations focus on resolving obstacles and completing the legal framework to promote national development.
In terms of personnel matters, the Central Committee will review and supplement the planning for the 14th Central Committee, Politburo, and Secretariat. It will also discuss personnel directions for the next Central Committee and review personnel matters under its authority.
In his opening speech, General Secretary To Lam emphasized the need for each Central Committee member to demonstrate the highest sense of responsibility, focus their intellect, and engage in democratic, frank, objective, and open-minded discussions. He affirmed the importance of prioritizing national interests above all else, preventing local interests, personal feelings, or deference from affecting the quality of decisions.
The General Secretary stated that each contribution at the meeting not only helps improve the content of the documents but also plays a role in shaping the Party's strategic direction to 2030, with a vision to 2050.
The 12th Central Committee meeting is scheduled to conclude on 19/7.
