International readers submit photos and videos celebrating Vietnam's 80th National Day

The "Vietnam Vibes by Vietravel" contest has received enthusiastic participation from the international community, with many readers abroad sharing photos and videos celebrating Vietnam's 80th National Day.

After a month-long call for entries, the "Vietnam Vibes by Vietravel" contest has received hundreds of photos and short videos from Vietnamese people and international friends, all commemorating the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day.

Among them, the photo "Vietnam 80th Anniversary of Independence" by Catalin Chitu captures a sunset over Ho Chi Minh City. The sun aligns perfectly with the Bitexco Financial Tower, a symbol of the city's modernity. The sunlight illuminates the national flag fluttering on the helipad, creating a powerful yet poetic image.

Chitu noted that the Bitexco's architecture, inspired by a lotus flower, symbolizes Vietnam's development and prosperity. The photo serves as a tribute to Vietnam’s historical journey and a testament to the country's dramatic transformation since independence.

Another entry, "Still They Rise" by Timur Altynguzhin, takes a symbolic approach. The photo features 5 young women in "ao nhat binh," traditional Vietnamese attire from the Nguyen Dynasty, standing before a famous cultural landmark.

Altynguzhin shared that the women's expressions convey serenity and pride. The photo is not just an artistic portrait but also a tribute to the resilient spirit of Vietnamese identity. Here, history is not confined to museums but is embraced and revived by younger generations with a sense of pride.

"Each fold of silk, each step on the stone tells a story of resilience and grace. These women do not carry nostalgia but a mission. Vietnamese tradition walks with them, revived with dignity, endurance, and pride," wrote Altynguzhin.

These international submissions bring a fresh perspective to the contest. While domestic entries often capture familiar moments from daily life, festivals, and landscapes, the international entries reflect a deeper exploration and empathy for Vietnam's journey of development.

The "Vietnam Vibes by Vietravel" contest has also attracted participation from celebrities and photographers. On the contest's inspiration page, singer Vo Ha Tram shared her experience of performing at significant national events and her motivation for releasing the song "Nguyen la nguoi Viet Nam" ("Wishing to be Vietnamese"), a proud affirmation of her heritage, identity, and desire to preserve the nation's spiritual values through music.

I am proud to contribute, even in a small way, to preserving the beautiful values of our nation, from tradition and culture to the unwavering spirit that never retreats."
