Following tradition, the opening ceremony commenced with: the flag salute, a statement of purpose, and an introduction of delegates. The presidium delivered the opening address, presented important reports, and some delegates offered discussions.
Four documents will be presented at the congress: the political report; a report summarizing theoretical and practical issues over 40 years of doi moi (renewal); a report summarizing 15 years of implementing the party charter; and a report reviewing the leadership and direction of the 13th central committee.
The 14th congress is scheduled to take place from 19/1 to 25/1. During the working sessions, delegates will discuss and decide on key issues regarding the country's development direction, party building, and the political system, while also electing a new central committee.
