Around 22h30 that same day, the child was found in a water storage tank in a longan garden in Muong Hung commune, about one km from his home, tired from hunger and cold. Search teams quickly removed the boy from the dangerous area, provided initial care, and then reunited him with his family.
Following the incident, Muong Hung Commune Police advised families to increase supervision of young children, especially near ponds, lakes, rivers, streams, wells, and water storage tanks. Households should cover, lock, or fence off dangerous areas and not allow young children to play alone to prevent accidents.
