5-seater car mangled in accident on Mong Cai - Ha Long expressway

A 5-seater car was severely damaged, and one person hospitalized after it collided with a parked truck on the Mong Cai - Ha Long expressway on the afternoon of 19/5.

Around 11:30, a 27-year-old driver from Quang Ninh province was operating a 5-seater car, carrying a 21-year-old male passenger, traveling from Ha Long towards Mong Cai. As they reached Mong Duong ward, the car crashed into a truck that was parked in the emergency lane due to a flat tire.

The impact completely tore off the roof and the right side of the 5-seater car, scattering debris onto the road. The 21-year-old male passenger, who was in the front seat, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the emergency room.

Highway Traffic Police Team No. 2, under the Traffic Police Department, dispatched officers to the scene to manage traffic flow and coordinate the accident investigation.

Initial investigations point to the 5-seater car driver's lack of observation as the cause of the collision with the stopped vehicle. Heavy rain and limited visibility in Mong Duong ward at the time of the accident were also contributing factors.
