The waste-to-energy incineration plant project is being built in Phu Tan ward, Vinh Long province, with Amaccao Group Joint Stock Company as the investor.
The facility is being constructed on an area of 4,2 hectares, with a total capital of 1,919 billion VND. Upon completion, the plant will be able to process 650 tons of waste daily, while also generating 13 MW of electricity. This is the largest waste-to-energy plant in the Mekong Delta in terms of investment capital and capacity to be implemented to date.

According to the investor, the plant will utilize German Martin waste-to-energy incineration technology. Its exhaust gas and dust treatment systems are designed to meet European standards; treated wastewater will achieve column A standards, be reused within the plant, and not discharged into the environment.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Nguyen Quynh Thien, Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee, stated that the locality generates over 1,300 tons of household waste daily. Of this, more than 95% is still disposed of through landfilling, creating significant pressure on land resources and posing a potential risk of water source pollution.
According to Thien, the construction of the plant is urgent, as it will not only help reduce local pollution pressure but also demonstrate the province's determination to develop its economy in conjunction with environmental protection.
