6 vehicles in chain collision on national highway 1A, two injured

A tractor-trailer collided with a 5-seater car waiting at a red light on national highway 1A, in Bim Son ward, causing a chain collision involving 6 vehicles and injuring two people, on the morning of 16/12.

The incident began around 7h when a tractor-trailer, heading northbound on national highway 1A, approached a traffic light in Bim Son ward. It then struck a 5-seater car that was stationary, waiting for the light to change.

The powerful collision propelled the 5-seater car forward, causing it to hit the rear of a truck positioned ahead. The truck was then forced into another vehicle, subsequently swerving sideways and colliding with a car in the adjacent lane. The momentum continued, pushing the impacted vehicle further forward to strike a final car also waiting at the red light, culminating in a chain collision involving 6 vehicles.

The multi-vehicle accident resulted in extensive damage to several cars, particularly the 5-seater, which sustained severe deformation to its front, rear, and side. Two occupants of the 5-seater car suffered minor injuries.

Occurring during the morning rush hour, the accident led to significant traffic congestion on national highway 1A through Bim Son ward. Authorities are currently at the scene, conducting an investigation to determine the exact cause of the collision.
