Around 8 am on 16/10, a 7-vehicle chain collision occurred on the Hanoi - Bac Giang expressway near Dai Phuc bridge, Bac Ninh, involving vehicles traveling towards Hanoi. One four-seater car was severely damaged at both its front and rear, wedged between a passenger bus and a truck. Several other vehicles also sustained front or rear damage, with debris scattered across an area of approximately 30 meters. The incident caused immediate traffic congestion, and the passenger bus, registered in Nghe An, had to arrange for another vehicle to transport its passengers. Authorities quickly arrived to direct traffic, investigate the cause, and manage the accident scene.

The Hanoi - Bac Giang expressway, spanning approximately 46 km and connecting Hanoi and Bac Ninh, experiences a daily traffic volume of 55,000-60,000 trips, leading to significant congestion. Recognizing this, the Ministry of Construction and relevant agencies have agreed on a plan to upgrade and expand the entire route.
