Da Lat, a popular tourist destination, is set to benefit from a new belt road designed to alleviate traffic pressure in its bustling city center. This key infrastructure project, with a total investment of 870 ty dong, also aims to expand urban development space towards the west of the city.
The route spans over 7,4 km, starting at the intersection of Lam Yen Tu road and Prenn Pass, and concluding at the Hoang Van Thu - Nguyen Dinh Quan crossroads. Construction began in 7/2021.
From the Datanla waterfall area, the route follows a specialized pine forest, passing through many famous landmarks such as Bao Dai waterfall and Tuyen Lam Lake. This is considered one of Da Lat's most beautiful roads.
The route is designed with four mixed-traffic lanes, and the road surface is over 20 m wide.

A section of the belt road is named Hoa Hong street, connecting with Le Thanh Tong street. The route includes Suoi Tia bridge, 37 m long, built over the old bridge's location.
To open the route through the mountainside, the construction unit built stepped concrete embankments to reduce landslide risk and ensure project safety.

Y Dinh street, part of the belt road, passes through residential areas and greenhouse zones.
The project was initially expected to be completed two years after its commencement. However, it faced delays and multiple extensions due to land clearance issues at the final section.

The final interchange section of the project is largely open to traffic, but construction remains slow due to land clearance issues. According to the Lam Dong Department of Construction, land clearance costs account for nearly 50% of the project's total investment. To date, 155 of 157 households have handed over land, with two households at the interchange still not agreeing. The reason is that resettlement approval did not coincide with the compensation plan, leading to resettlement land prices being higher than the compensation amount. Authorities are addressing residents' recommendations to complete the project.
