Bus accident on expressway, foreign female tourist dies

A bus carrying about 20 people collided with the rear of a truck on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway, resulting in the death of a foreign female passenger and injuries to one other person, in the early hours of 15/8.

Around 3h, the bus, traveling from Phan Thiet to TP HCM, hit the rear of a Dak Lak-registered truck that was traveling in the same direction ahead, as it reached the section passing through Tan Minh commune.

The impact deformed the front of the bus, while the truck sustained damage to its rear and stopped in the emergency lane. A foreign female passenger died, and another person was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.

The accident occurred about 3 km from the Tan Minh interchange. Traffic police and the expressway management unit were present to regulate traffic, preventing congestion on the route.

Lam Dong Provincial Police investigated the scene to determine the cause of the accident.
