On 5/1, around 5h, a bus operating the Quang Ninh - Song Ma route, with a Ha Noi license plate, was traveling on national highway 37. Near Km 472 in Mat Sang village, Phieng Pan commune, the bus unexpectedly crashed through a roadside protective barrier, then plunged into a ditch and overturned.

Phieng Pan commune officials and local residents quickly broke the windshield to rescue the victims. Of the 11 injured passengers, two people suffered broken arms, one person had a broken thigh, and eight people sustained minor injuries. All injured individuals received treatment at the commune health station. The remaining passengers were reported to be in stable condition.

The accident scene showed a section of the roadside barrier toppled. The bus lay overturned in the ditch, approximately 3 m below the road surface. Its roof and left side were deformed, and debris littered the surrounding area. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
