The incident occurred around 10:30 AM on 29/1, when a truck, driven by Nguyen Thai Hung, 42, unexpectedly rolled down a slope in Tam Giang commune, Dak Lak. Hung had stopped the Dak Lak-registered truck at the Giang My village t-junction and exited the cabin before the vehicle began to move.

The truck accelerated over 40 meters, first hitting and killing Nguyen Thuy Linh, 10, who was walking ahead. It then collided with a motorbike operated by Linh's mother, Le Thi Phuc, 39, who was riding behind her daughter.

The truck dragged the motorbike to the roadside before coming to a stop. At the time of the accident, the truck was empty, and the road was on a slope.

Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the incident.
