Around 5 a.m., a container truck traveling north-south passed the National Highway 28B junction by about 2 kilometers when its driver noticed smoke and fire emanating from the front of the vehicle. The driver immediately steered to the shoulder and exited the cabin before flames completely enveloped the tractor unit.
The fire spread rapidly, completely destroying the front of the truck and scorching the refrigerated container (reefer) behind the trailer.

Fire Prevention and Fighting Police (PCCC), along with specialized vehicles from Phan Thiet, arrived at the scene. They brought the fire under control and extinguished it after 30 minutes.
Traffic Police (CSGT) patrolling the expressway coordinated with the route management unit to regulate traffic. Authorities blocked north-south traffic from the National Highway 28B junction, directing vehicles to national highways to avoid congestion.
Around 7 a.m., traffic flow on the route became smooth after the scene investigation was completed. A rescue vehicle removed the damaged vehicle from the scene. Authorities are investigating the cause.
