Duong Tu Minh street in Quang Vinh ward transformed into a river, almost completely isolated. At less flooded spots in central Thai Nguyen, relief teams from both within and outside the province busily prepared necessities such as rice, bread, and drinking water for distribution to households in Quang Vinh ward.

Mrs. Hong waded through the water to receive relief meals. "My house has six people, and it's deep in a small alley, so boats cannot reach us. I have to wade out to get food for my entire family," Mrs. Hong stated.

With floodwaters chest-deep, Nguyen The Son used a styrofoam box to transport relief supplies. "My house currently hosts 20 people, all neighbors and relatives gathered at the highest point," Son shared.

Nguyen Dinh Luan carried supplies into his knee-deep flooded house on Duong Tu Minh street. "The floodwaters have receded by half, but the damage to my three workshops is nearly one billion VND. We can only try to rebuild, because the water rose too quickly for us to evacuate in time," Luan explained.

Sitting on the second floor, Mr. and Mrs. Ky prepared a plastic bucket as a makeshift pulley, awaiting a relief boat at night. Ky stated that for three days, floodwaters submerged their entire first floor, and with no electricity or water, they could not cook.

In deeply flooded areas far from the city center, Thai Nguyen provincial military forces continued to rescue the elderly and children, evacuating them to temporary shelters.

"My house has three children, and it's submerged 2 meters deep. I just managed to call someone to bring a boat to take my three children and me to stay with relatives; my husband remains to wait for the water to recede and then clean the house," stated Nhu Tien, from Dang Kiem alley in Quang Vinh ward.

From night until morning, at dry locations in central Thai Nguyen, relief teams continued to await boats to transport and supply residents in flooded areas.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting on the morning of 8/10, flood levels on the Cau River at Gia Bay station, Thai Nguyen, peaked at 29,9 meters. This level surpassed the historical flood of 2024 by 1,09 meters. The heavy rains and floods have submerged 33 out of 92 communes and wards under 1-2 meters of water, with many areas losing power and water, necessitating ongoing aid.
