Around 9 p.m. on 11/9, earth and rocks from a hillside spilled onto national route 20 at D'ran pass, a section bordering Xuan Truong ward in Da Lat and D'ran commune. Dozens of cubic meters of debris covered the road, making the pass slippery. Ongoing heavy rain reduced visibility and increased the risk of further landslides, rendering passage unsafe.

After 10 p.m., authorities arrived at the scene, implementing measures to address the landslide. Traffic police, in coordination with local police and military forces, diverted traffic and issued safety warnings to residents.

Colonel Nguyen Van Tiep, Head of the Lam Dong Provincial Police Traffic Police Department, stated that continuous debris flow onto the road necessitated the temporary closure of D'ran pass to all vehicles. Concurrently, his unit is urgently deploying recovery efforts.

This landslide occurred near an area that experienced a severe landslide during the 2025 rainy season, towards D'ran commune. The pass closure forced vehicles traveling to and from Da Lat to take a detour of over 20 km, following national route 20 to Phi Nom intersection before turning onto national route 27 towards D'ran.

National route 20 spans 264 km, originating from Dau Giay intersection in Dong Nai city. It traverses rubber plantations and Bao Loc pass to Da Lat, then descends to D'ran commune, connecting to the Phan Rang area in Khanh Hoa province.
