The bridge will span approximately 11,6 km, with its main section extending for 3 km. The project begins at Nguyen Thi Dinh street, Cat Lai ward, TP HCM, and concludes in Dai Phuoc commune, Dong Nai. The total investment is estimated at 20.600 ty dong (20.6 trillion VND).
Prior to this, on 15/1, the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, in collaboration with Construction Corporation No. 1, held a groundbreaking ceremony for the bridge. This project is being implemented under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, specifically a build-transfer (BT) contract.

The bridge will feature eight lanes, designed for a speed of 80 km/h, including two lanes designated for motorcycles and non-motorized vehicles.
Once operational, the bridge will connect the northern and northeastern areas of TP HCM with Dong Nai and Long Thanh Airport. It aims to alleviate traffic congestion on existing routes such as National Highway 1, National Highway 51, and the Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway.

The bridge is expected to serve as a strategic link, completing the inter-regional transport network between TP HCM and Dong Nai. It will effectively connect Long Thanh Airport, seaports, industrial parks, urban areas, and key national transport routes.
The lighting system will ensure the Cat Lai bridge shines brightly at night, with its two towers serving as a prominent highlight.

Once the bridge is in service, it will put an end to the frequent traffic congestion on Ly Thai To street in Nhon Trach, Dong Nai, where vehicles often queue to cross into TP HCM during holidays.
In addition to the Cat Lai bridge, TP HCM and Dong Nai recently broke ground simultaneously for the Long Hung and Phu My 2 bridges. Last year, the Nhon Trach bridge, part of TP HCM's Ring Road 3, was also inaugurated and opened to traffic, further shortening the distance between the two localities.
