Drunk taxi driver causes accident

Driving a taxi on Phuc La - Da Sy street while intoxicated, a driver caused an accident and refused to sign the police report.

On 10/3, the Hanoi Police Traffic Police Department announced that Road Traffic Police Team No. 7 had fined a 44-year-old taxi driver from Vinh Linh commune, Quang Tri province. The driver was penalized for operating a taxi under the influence of alcohol and for refusing to sign the violation report. He faces a 35 million VND fine and a 23-month driver's license revocation.

The incident occurred around 8:55 PM on 9/3 when the driver, operating a taxi on Phuc La - Da Sy street, had a minor collision with a five-seater oto. Both vehicles sustained light scratches.

Following the collision, the driver remained in his taxi, refusing to turn off the engine or engage with the situation. He then attempted to flee the scene but was intercepted by Road Traffic Police Team No. 7.

A breathalyzer test revealed the taxi driver's alcohol concentration was 0.849 mg/l, which is double the maximum legal limit.
