Around midnight on 19/7, a 1,000-square-meter steel-framed, sheet-metal workshop located on lane 389 Truong Dinh Street in Tuong Mai ward caught fire. A plume of black smoke rose hundreds of meters into the air, visible from kilometers away.
The workshop, situated in a densely populated residential area about 200 meters from the main road, caused significant disruption. Hundreds of people poured into the streets to watch the fire.

Within 10 minutes of the fire starting, at least six fire trucks and dozens of firefighters arrived at the scene. Truong Dinh Street was closed to traffic to facilitate firefighting efforts.
The workshop contained flammable materials, causing the fire to spread rapidly. Loud explosions periodically rocked the area, causing windows to rattle in nearby homes. Residents with cars parked close to the fire were helped to move their vehicles to safety.

Firefighters faced difficulties due to the workshop's size. They focused on containing the fire to prevent it from spreading to the surrounding residential area.
By around 2:30 a.m., the fire was largely under control, but the workshop was almost completely destroyed. One firefighter suffered smoke inhalation, received oxygen, and was hospitalized for observation.
