On the afternoon of June 25, during a press conference for the 2026 conference announcing the 100-year master plan for Hanoi and investment promotion, Le Trung Hieu, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Finance, stated that the city has prepared an area to showcase the plan. This area will feature sandboxes combined with projection technology. Introductory videos and planning maps will visualize major development directions, depicting the capital's new spatial structure.
The first floor, specifically its central area, of the Hanoi Museum hosts a circular master plan sandbox, 7 meters in diameter. This display fully incorporates the new boundary information of the 100-year project. The 4th floor, spanning approximately 1,200 square meters, is designed as a formal exhibition space, showcasing a sandbox that utilizes 3D mapping projection technology to visually present the 100-year master plan's directions.
Additionally, the museum exhibits drawings and models of several typical city projects. It also features an area for screening 3D planning documentary films and offers a trial planning information lookup system.

Providing further details, Tran Quang Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Architecture, explained that the public announcement ensures information transparency. This allows agencies, socio-political organizations, the business community, and residents to grasp the basic drawings, policies, and directional content of the 100-year project.
"When all information is made public, it will provide a solid foundation for domestic and international businesses and investors, as well as residents, to proactively choose suitable investment and business directions, anticipating the capital's development orientations," Tuyen stated.
Addressing a query regarding the progress of the sub-area planning for the Red River landscape boulevard axis, Tuyen reported that after Hanoi approved the overall 100-year vision, units are now implementing the Red River urban sub-area planning project and the detailed planning for the Red River boulevard axis project. The project is currently soliciting feedback from relevant ministries and sectors, after which the city will organize public consultation to gather contributions for the project.
Earlier, on 13/5, the Hanoi People's Committee (HPC) issued a decision approving the 100-year master plan for Hanoi. This consolidated plan integrates both the Capital's Plan and the Capital's General Plan. The plan defines the scope of the capital's entire administrative boundary, covering a natural area of 3,359 km2. It projects a population of 14-15 million by 2035, increasing to 17-19 million by 2065.
The plan adopts the vision of building a capital that is "Cultured - Civilized - Modern - Happy," with a human-centered approach. Its spatial development structure is based on a "multi-layered, multi-polar, multi-centered" model. The plan identifies 9 development poles, 9 major centers, and 9 dynamic axes, with the Red River serving as the main ecological-cultural landscape axis.
For the 2026-2035 period, the city aims for an average GRDP growth exceeding 11% per year, with GRDP reaching approximately 200 billion USD by 2035 and 640 billion USD by 2045. Looking at the 100-year vision, Hanoi aspires to become a global city that is "Cultured - Smart - Creative - Ecological," ranking among the capitals with the highest quality of life and happiness worldwide.
