A majority of delegates to the city People's Council approved the election of Bui Duy Cuong, director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, and Do Anh Tuan, head of the Hanoi Party Committee's Inspection Commission, to the city People's Committee.

Bui Duy Cuong, 53, previously served as secretary of the Soc Son Commune Party Committee and chairperson of its People's Council. In February 2026, he was appointed director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment.

Do Anh Tuan, 55, held positions including director of the Department of Planning and Investment, head of the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, and head of the City Party Committee's Internal Affairs Commission before becoming head of the Hanoi Party Committee's Inspection Commission.

Following the consolidation, the Hanoi People's Committee for the 2026-2031 term now comprises chairperson Vu Dai Thang and six vice chairpersons: Duong Duc Tuan, Nguyen Xuan Luu, Bui Duy Cuong, Do Anh Tuan, Truong Viet Dung, and Vu Thu Ha.
