Around 9:30 h, a fire broke out at a three-story house, approximately 100 square meters in size, located on Le Van Luong street, behind Lotte Mart in the former District 7. Upon discovering the fire, the workers inside quickly evacuated and called for residents' help to extinguish the flames, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

As the interior contained numerous sofas and mattresses, the flames rapidly spread, engulfing the house. A column of thick black smoke rose dozens of meters high, alarming many residents in the surrounding area.

After approximately 20 minutes, firefighters brought the blaze under control, though much of the interior's contents were destroyed.
