Dong Nai implements 250 AI cameras for remote traffic penalties

Dong Nai police have deployed a system of 762 cameras across key roads and areas to record traffic violations.

On 16/10, the Dong Nai Traffic Police Department activated its Command and Information Center. This center will detect and process traffic order and safety violations through a remote penalty system, aiming to enhance management efficiency and improve road users' adherence to traffic laws.

The system comprises 762 cameras installed on key roads and areas throughout the province. This includes 250 smart AI (PTZ) cameras and 512 surveillance cameras designed to capture license plates and record violations.

Data from the system will be used to detect, verify, and process violations such as: disobeying traffic light signals, not wearing seatbelts, driving in the wrong lane or road section, not wearing helmets, and other prescribed infractions.

The operation of this camera system at the Command and Information Center, providing continuous 24/7 surveillance, enables authorities to proactively detect violations and enhances objectivity and transparency in enforcement. This technology-driven monitoring also strengthens deterrence, reduces violations, and supports efforts to maintain traffic order and safety in the area.

Through this "all-seeing eye" system, the Dong Nai Police aim to improve the application of technology in traffic management, gradually fostering a habit of voluntary law compliance among citizens. This initiative seeks to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of people and vehicles on the roads.

Dong Nai is a strategically located province, bordering Ho Chi Minh City, the Central Highlands, and Cambodia. With numerous national highways, including 1A, 20, 51, 56, 13, and 14, along with many provincial roads, the province experiences very high traffic density.
