Ho Con Rua in Xuan Hoa ward has a new look following renovations, a noticeable change from 3 months ago. This transformation is part of a city decision to refresh the intersection before Tet Binh Ngo (Lunar New Year).
The monument, situated at the intersection of Pham Ngoc Thach, Tran Cao Van, and Vo Van Tan streets, was built between 1965 and 1967. It stands on the former site of a water tower and Chien Si Square, dating back to the French era. Designed in a modern style, the lake once featured a concrete turtle statue at its center, which was removed after 1975. Today, it remains a popular gathering spot for youth and a significant urban landmark of Saigon.

In front of the market is the headquarters of Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company, at 136 Ham Nghi Street, which has been refreshed with a red roof and darker yellow walls. The building, over 110 years old with French architecture, was once the headquarters of Indochina Railway Company, earning it the name Hoa Xa building. |
The central concrete pillars and walkways have been painted white and light yellow, replacing their previous gray hue.
According to the construction unit, the renovation of Ho Con Rua and its surrounding area has been ongoing for over a week and is currently 90% complete.

About 1,5 km away, Ben Thanh Market also presents a new look following its renovation. The market's walls and roof have been repainted, while preserving its original lines and decorative patterns. The square in front of the market now features large wave-patterned designs in various colors.
This historic market once stood on the banks of the Ben Nghe River before relocating to its current site. The construction unit states that incorporating wave imagery into the market's front square enhances the landscape, connecting historical elements with modern urban space.
