According to statistics from the Traffic Police Department (Cuc CSGT, Ministry of Public Security), local traffic police detected and addressed over 76,000 traffic violations. These actions included revoking over 2,400 driving licenses and professional certificates, deducting points from over 16,000 licenses, and temporarily seizing nearly 28,000 vehicles.
Among the violations addressed, alcohol concentration cases accounted for 34.4%, totaling 26,337 incidents. This represents an increase of over 9,000 cases compared to the same period during the At Ty 2025 Tet holiday. Speeding violations made up 20.5% of the total, with over 15,700 drivers cited.

During the same Tet holiday period, 381 traffic accidents occurred nationwide, resulting in 230 fatalities and 274 injuries. Compared to the At Ty 2025 Tet holiday, this marks a reduction of 154 incidents, 73 deaths, and 118 injuries.
Roads were the primary location for these accidents. The railway system reported one incident, while waterways experienced two serious incidents. These included an event on the Song Gianh river, flowing through Tuyen Binh commune and Tuyen Hoa commune in Quang Tri province, which claimed 4 lives, and a collision on Thac Ba lake in Lao Cai province, resulting in 6 deaths.
This year, Cuc CSGT also organized efforts to measure traffic flow into and out of major cities, aiming to implement early diversion plans. The total vehicle volume from local roads entering highways managed by Cuc CSGT exceeded 5.2 million turns. Despite consistently high traffic volume on the first two and last two days of the Tet holiday, no serious or prolonged traffic jams occurred.
