Over ten people lift bus to rescue girl trapped underneath

Nearly ten passersby, along with the driver and assistant, lifted a multi-ton bus to free a young woman trapped underneath and take her to emergency care on the morning of 4/5.

A bus collision on Nguyen Van Cu street in Bo De ward, Hanoi, resulted in a young woman being trapped underneath the vehicle, prompting a heroic rescue effort by passersby, the driver, and the assistant. The incident occurred around 6:45 a.m. on 4/5.

Bus number 48, operating on the Nuoc Ngam - Long Bien route, driven by Nguyen Anh Toan, 41, from Thanh Oai commune, was traveling towards Chuong Duong bridge. Upon reaching the Nguyen Van Cu - Nguyen Son intersection, the bus collided with a motorcycle ridden by Do Thi Huong Giang, 35, from Phu Dong commune, who was stopped at a red light.

Giang was dragged under the bus, near its rear wheel. The driver, assistant, and over ten passersby quickly acted, lifting the heavy bus. It took about 20 minutes to free the victim, according to witness Hoang Anh.
