The My Khe pedestrian street, a new attraction for Quang Ngai, is set to open on the 20th day of the twelfth lunar month (7/2). Pham Quoc Vuong, Chairman of Tinh Khe Commune People's Committee, announced that about 20 businesses have registered to operate along the street. Local authorities are actively seeking investors to fund the lighting system, offering advertising exploitation rights in return.
Located on the My Khe coastal road, the street stretches 800 meters north of existing restaurants. It extends from the mini square stage area, east of Khe Ky bridge, to the old Tinh Ky intersection, where it meets Vo Bam road.

The street's design incorporates four functional zones: a check-in and music and art performance area, 10 stalls for OCOP products and souvenirs, 20 stalls offering food, fast food, and non-alcoholic beverages, and 10 stalls for alcoholic drinks. All stalls will utilize mobile canopy structures for ease of installation and removal.
The pedestrian street is scheduled to operate daily from 5 PM to 10 PM. During these hours, authorities will barricade the street, prohibiting vehicles. After 10 PM, the street will revert to its normal state for traffic.

My Khe is Quang Ngai's most renowned beach, a popular destination for both residents and tourists. According to Vuong, the pedestrian street aims to capitalize on the existing advantages of beach tourism, linking it with local specialties like anchovy and fish sauce from the old Tinh Ky area.
"The street is located away from residential areas, so music and art activities will not affect residents' daily lives, while also extending entertainment time for tourists," he stated.
This marks the second pedestrian street to open in Quang Ngai in early 2026. Previously, the Tra River night street, located along the southern bank of the Tra Khuc river, was also developed and is expected to commence operations on the 19th-20th day of the twelfth lunar month. The Quang Ngai Province People's Committee reported that in 2025, the locality achieved a growth of over 10%, with the service sector accounting for about 29% of its Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). For 2026, the province aims for continued double-digit growth, with promoting the advantages of sea and forest tourism identified as a key task.
