On 18/7, a representative of the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) stated that they have collaborated with the Vietnam Road Administration and related units to discuss the proposal of painting traffic instructions directly onto road surfaces. This includes maximum speed limits, lane divisions, and other necessary information, rather than relying solely on road signs.
This proposal comes after recent online discussions supporting the clear display of speed limits and lane markings on road surfaces to enhance visibility and reduce violations.

Nguyen Van Loi, a Hanoi resident, believes that painting speed limits on roads will prevent confusion, especially when signs are obscured. "Many people exceed the speed limit because they don't see the signs. If numbers like 30, 50, 60... are clearly painted on the road, drivers can easily observe them and have fewer excuses for violations," he said.
Tran Bich Quyen, from Bac Ninh, also considers this the best solution. "Signs can be hidden, but everyone can see the road surface. Additionally, there should be warning signs about routes where speed traps are frequently used so people are aware and comply voluntarily," she suggested.
Along with this proposal, the Traffic Police Department representative said they will conduct field surveys of every kilometer on the North-South Expressway, experiencing it from a driver's perspective, to propose appropriate adjustments instead of managing solely based on administrative thinking.
Previously, on 16/7, the Traffic Police Department launched the National Traffic Data, Monitoring and Control Center, operating 24/7 and using AI technology to detect and penalize violations. This center connects to the entire camera system on the roads and integrates data from various localities.
Initially, the Traffic Police Department will pilot sending violation warnings via the VNeTraffic app, managed by the Ministry of Public Security, to vehicles traveling on four expressways: Noi Bai - Lao Cai, Da Nang - Quang Ngai, TP HCM - Long Thanh - Dau Giay, and TP HCM - Trung Luong.
