Traffic diversion at two overpasses as Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway opens

Due to two incomplete overpasses, authorities are adjusting the route for the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway's full opening, effective from the afternoon of 18/5.

On 17/5, the Dong Nai City Investment and Construction Project Management Board announced that sub-project 1, the section from Vo Nguyen Giap interchange to Long Thanh interchange, is expected to open to traffic from 17:00 on 18/5.

Sub-projects 2 and 3 had previously been operational since 29/4. With the completion of the remaining section, the entire Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway will officially open to traffic. During the initial operational phase, the expressway will only permit vehicles with fewer than 9 seats, with a maximum speed of 80 km/h and a minimum speed of 60 km/h.

Since the Ham Nghi and Phung Hung overpasses in Tam Phuoc ward will not be operational until june, the investor has adjusted the route in these two areas.

Accordingly, vehicles from Thien Binh residential area on Ham Nghi road heading towards National Highway 51 will use the parallel road to the left of the overpass, turn left onto the project's service road, travel approximately 600 m to road 6 in Tam Phuoc Industrial Park, and then turn right onto National Highway 51.

Meanwhile, vehicles on Phung Hung road, traveling from Trang Bom towards National Highway 51, will turn onto road 3 of Tam Phuoc Industrial Park, proceed for approximately 1,2 km to road 6, and then exit onto National Highway 51.

Additionally, the Bung Mon entrance in Long Thanh ward, operational since 29/4, will close from 8:00 on 18/5 to ensure traffic safety. Vehicles traveling from the TP HCM - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway wishing to access the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway must proceed to the Vo Nguyen Giap interchange, located approximately 18 km further.

The Traffic Police Department has requested the investor to deploy personnel for traffic diversion, control eligible vehicles entering the expressway, and prepare a temporary vehicle impoundment area to maintain traffic order and safety. Special situations, including rescue operations, emergency relief, traffic diversion, or allowing vehicles to travel against traffic in urgent cases, will be primarily managed by the Traffic Police force.

The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway spans nearly 54 km, with a total investment of approximately 17,800 billion dong. Once completed, the route is expected to ease congestion on National Highway 51 and shorten travel time from TP HCM to Vung Tau to about 70 minutes.
